About the event

Room 007C/D

Cyber incidents affecting EMS agencies are increasing in frequency and impact, yet many boards and leadership teams still view cybersecurity as a technical issue rather than an operational and governance responsibility. This session reframes cybersecurity in terms EMS commissioners, chiefs, and executives understand patient care continuity, HIPAA accountability, financial exposure, and public trust.

This session will help EMS boards and leadership teams understand where cyber risk intersects with HIPAA liability, service disruption, patient care, and commissioner accountability, and how to address those risks in a practical, defensible, and budget-aware way.

right questions, implement smart policies, and make informed decisions—without needing to be cybersecurity experts.
