Micro Learning - 10 Rules

View this short video introduction of the 10 Rules Micro Learning Series

The “10 Rules of Cybersecurity for Emergency Services Personnel” provide a practical foundation for safe technology use in EMS, Fire, Dispatch, and Emergency Service District operations.

As emergency services become more dependent on connected systems, every employee plays a role in protecting patient information, operational systems, and public trust. These rules establish clear expectations for cybersecurity awareness, responsible technology use, and operational readiness.

To support ongoing awareness, EMSCyber360 will deliver a series of short monthly microlearning modules lasting approximately 2 to 4 minutes each. Every module will focus on one cybersecurity rule using real-world emergency services examples, quick operational guidance, and practical takeaways crews can immediately apply in the field.

The 10 monthly modules include:

  1. Complete Required Training

  2. No Privacy on District Systems

  3. Use Only Authorized Access

  4. No Unapproved Software or Apps

  5. Use District Tech for District Work

  6. Follow AI Rules

  7. Protect Screens, Passwords, and Devices

  8. Report Cyber Issues Immediately

  9. Limit Use of Personal Devices

  10. Protect PHI and Confidential Data

These short modules are designed to keep cybersecurity awareness practical, operational, and easy to reinforce throughout the year.
